For this film we walked through the centre of Exeter’s Central Business District with the aim of identifying features of the core and frame. We noted areas of decay and improvement. Lyme Regis faces the dual hazard of a rapidly eroding shoreline and unstable foundations. A major program of engineering work is bing undertaken to protect the town. This film looks at the work done to date, and highlights the East Cliff area of the town, which remains under threat from landslides and coastal erosion.Thanks to Malcom Etherington for permission to use some of his pictures of the works. In 2004 Boscastle suffered a devastating flood. This film combines archive footage with an update on the progress of the flood prevention works that are being carried out by the Environment Agency. There are comprehensive revision notes.
