Teacher Tube improvements?

tt
At long last some sign that Teacher Tube has improved their server speed!

I found that a recent Google Earth geotagged video file suddenly worked properly, with no buffering problems at all. Previously I’d been disappointed so it’s good to report on this development.

Excellent news, since Teacher Tube is pretty much the only option for online video viewing in my digital prison (sorry, school)

Hi I would like to add that another site I have been using SchoolsTube is excellent. It is based in the UK, and these guys have got it right from the start. Their content is pre-checked so there should be no video nasties. At around £20 per year to join it is a bargain. A start-up to watch! Thanks. Terry

    Thanks Terry.
I had a look but don’t really get the idea. Isn’t it just a “digital open prison” Don’t we need to be encouraging the safe and responsible use of You Tube?
The start up model seems to be at odds with current trends - ie to offer a free application and later introduce premium pay-for additional services. In any event students aren’t going to be paying to upload their video content are they?

Hi, most definitely I think people should be using YouTube more responsibly.

But to have an option of uploading content that is checked can be no bad thing either.

I suppose YouTube can never check all its content thoroughly due to the goliath it has become.

And the rogue element will always slip through the net.

I was going to use it this week, when viewing what I thought was a safe clip expletives flashed onto the screen that someone had edited into the footage.

With some careful implementation SchoolsTube could offer Schools and colleges access to a safer digital environment.

Schools and colleges would stump up the fee for joining.
Less “open prison” more digital utopia.
